Closing a Factory: Maintaining Positive Relations with All Stakeholders |

|
CHALLENGE: A downshift in the economy drove the need for a national product manufacturer to close a factory and redistribute work by consolidating several other facilities.
APPROACH: Siegfried Dunlay created a strategic communication plan to guide all communication efforts, ensuring the right messages got to the right audiences at the right time. The robust plan included tactics for all audiences – from customers and employees to the community and the media. The communications approach created a river of good will, despite the difficult nature of the news. RESULTS: Employees understood the case for change, the media treated the company fairly, and the leadership team was well prepared to deliver tough news.
"During our work with Siegfried Dunlay, you expressed your opinion, you exhibited your expertise and you pushed that to just the right level. You tested us a little bit, said 'here’s what we recommend,' and you read it right."' —CEO
