Change Management: Mitigating Labor Risk PDF Print Email

CHALLENGE:
A Fortune 500 corporation was making some significant changes in warehouse staffing schedules at more than 30 locations across the country in an effort to greatly improve efficiency in operations. The changes had to be handled delicately as they would dramatically impact employee work schedules, productivity, and the risk of union activity was a threat in one Western U.S. state.

APPROACH:
Siegfried Dunlay partnered with the executive and communications teams on this multi-month project to develop a robust communications plan that outlined the case for change, the detailed timeline and actions for leaders across the country. Work included developing all communication and training materials. Leaders were coached through dry runs held via video conference to assure leaders were well-prepared to manage this significant change.

RESULTS:
The plan was implemented flawlessly by the broad team involved in this major change initiative. The communications plan and approach has since been used as a best practice for other major change initiatives within the corporation.

"The best and most thorough communications package I’ve seen in my 30 years of working in Labor Relations. The change you are implementing should be very successful with this level of support. There’s not a hole I can poke in it."
